You’ve probably heard folks talk about the mind-body-spirit connection. Many people are unsure what it means, but it simply refers to mental, physical, and emotional/spiritual well-being.
You’ve probably noticed that you start to show physical signs when something bothers you psychologically or emotionally. Your heart starts to race; you begin to sweat more than usual, you have trouble sleeping because you can’t stop thinking about the problem – and you begin to feel tired and lethargic. This occurs when the mind, body, and soul are out of sync.
However, when your mind is at ease, and you are not troubled from within, then you will be physically relaxed, happier, friendlier, and thankful.
Science And Traditional Ways
Traditional medicine frequently treats illnesses, substance abuse, and mental issues primarily from a physical standpoint.
Additionally, mainstream medical treatment also helps some people come out feeling better. For example, when you go to the hospital, then you are diagnosed and given medication. The diagnosis or therapy will depend on the person. For some people, it works while for others it will depend on their spiritual health, mindset, or their physical health.
Dr. Sas says that you’ll have the best health possible when your mind, body, and spirit are all in sync. This balance is more easily attained when traditional medicine is combined with a holistic approach to treatment, which addresses the whole person.
A Healthy Mind
Ever wondered how your mind works? Experts have revealed that your mind thinks between 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts a day. Therefore on average, you could have 2500 to 3300 thoughts passing through your mind every hour.
Due to these numerous thoughts, your brain also needs rest to be healthy. Just imagine if 50000 thoughts passed through your mind each day. What would become of you if you did not keep your mind healthy?
Therefore, despite your love for knowledge, you need to exercise your mind regularly and avoid stress and worry. It is helpful if you learn to silence your mind and connect to God, the Universe, or your Source. There needs to be a time of nothingness when your mind lets go of all its thinking.
Also, try to become aware of your thoughts. You will know if your thoughts are healthy or not. If in one hour your 2000 to 3000 thoughts are in the line of “oh, I will never get better, there’s no cure. Most people die from it; my neighbor just got bedridden from this disease, and so on. These are unhealthy thoughts.” Says Dr. Sas.
Once you become aware that you are not thinking “healthy” thoughts, make a point to change your thoughts. Change it to, “I’m healthy, I’m feeding my body with all the nutritious food that is needed to heal, I am exercising regularly and supporting my body to heal.” These are what you need to feed your mind to help heal your body
A Healthy Body
What does it mean to have a healthy body? A healthy body means feeding your body with the right nutrition and ensuring it is in good relation. On that account, your body needs to have the right carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and fat.
The health of your body depends on how well you feed it. How much you give your body to keep it healthy depends entirely on what diet you choose. But did you know that there are many different diets out there? They include; ketogenic, vegan, raw vegan, vegetarian, paleo, and the list goes on and on.
Consequently, you need to know what type of diet or lifestyle you have chosen. If you don’t know, it’s time to expand your knowledge. Most people are on what we call a “normal” diet. They eat carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Unfortunately, the majority don’t know what these are. They eat the salad, which appears to be healthy and nutritious. However, the vegetable part may be good, but who knows what is in the dressings? The truth is that most of them contain sugar.
If you are on a low-carb diet, you are dancing a thin line between not having enough energy and giving yourself too much carbs. If you are on a keto diet, you need more fat, a bit of protein, and essentially just trances of carbohydrates from vegetables.
Whatever diet you are on, make sure your food source is quality. The meat is humanely sourced, grass-fed, and organic. Plus no hormones in any of the meats. The eggs are from pasture-raised chickens, hormone-free, and fed organic food. If you buy processed meat like bacon, salami, etc., make sure there is no nitrite. Or better yet, make your own bacon.
You need a strong body to carry you through life. Hence, besides feeding your body the proper nutrition, make sure you exercise and move your body. Small frames need to have a strong core and strong muscles. It is essential to get help from the right professionals to assist you.
It would be beneficial if you followed a coach like Dr. Sas.
A Healthy Spirit
Spirituality is the most important thing for your overall health. Why? Because once you know you are part of something great, then nothing can faze you.
Being spiritual entails being connected to nature and being grounded and aware that you are a part of something far more significant than yourself.
As a human being, when you go inward, meditate, or silence your mind, you will feel connected to your source, your God and the universe. And sometimes you have brief moments or instances when you remember your divinity. You remember that connection. The feeling of that connection is so magnificent that the words cannot describe. For example people who have been through a near death experience never want to come back to that detrimental health issue.
Dr. Sas recognizes that dealing with difficulties is an unavoidable aspect of life, and it takes effort and general mindfulness to strengthen the link between the mind, body, and spirit. Growing up among healers and earning the title of the energy healer herself, Dr.Sas shares all she knows about healing the body, mind, and spirit.
