I live a truly awesome and fabulous life, and I’m not saying this to brag.
I’m saying it because there is no reason you shouldn’t be doing the same.
They say that turning something into a habit takes more than 30-days of repetition. You have to do the same things over and over that contribute to you having an amazing life. It really doesn’t have to be more complicated than that.
Figure out what works.
Do it over and over.
Rinse and repeat.
There are eight things that I do all the time that I believe are a major reason why I live a life that I love so much. They are in no specific order. Maybe something will grab your attention. Give it a shot. What’s the worst that can happen? Your life becomes even better? That would be horrible, right? Joking aside, here is my list.
1. Help Other People
Any time you can help someone, in any way, you should take the opportunity. It’s a way to give back. A lot of people assume it has to do with financial help and that is not the case. Something as simple as opening the door or holding the elevator for someone goes a long way.
It helps them, makes you feel good and makes them feel any better. You never know what kind of things someone is dealing with in life and sometimes the smallest gesture of kindness will make their day.
2. Eat Healthy
You should care about what you fuel your body with. Whole foods, fresh foods and less junk will make you feel much better. You will have more energy during the day, sleep better at night and you will maintain a healthy weight and also have better skin.
You cannot eat like crap and expect to feel amazing. Pay attention to what you are consuming. Make it a point to eat healthy and watch your life become more enjoyable.
3. Travel Often
Get away and take a vacation as often as possible. Even if it’s just somewhere a couple hours away. Go explore and see as much of this world as you can. When you always have adventures planned it keeps you motivated as well.
A full calendar keeps you in a good mood. If you have nothing to do you can begin to feel depressed or sad. Occupy your time with fun and adventure. See as much and experience as much as you possibly can within reason.
4. Be Thankful
Never take what you have in life for granted. Be thankful for what you have, who you have and what you are able to experience. Not everyone has a life that allows them to have total freedom.
The more you realize this, the more you will appreciate even the smallest things in life. Be thankful for everything that you are able to do and what comes your way in life. Don’t be afraid to show the world how thankful you are. Don’t hold it in.
5. Keep Your Mind Working
You should always challenge yourself mentally and try to learn something new daily. One of the best things I started doing was reading every day, even just for 15 minutes. It’s a great way to constantly feed your brain information.
You can mix it up, and read self-help books, or books about something that is of interest to you, or even something entertaining. The goal is to always keep your mind working. Think of it like exercising. You want to keep your brain strong!
6. Practice Self-Love
You need to take care of yourself and treat yourself to nice things. Get a nice dinner. Take that vacation. Buy that new purse you want. Love yourself. Massages, pampering, etc. Buy yourself something nice.
This is something a lot of people overlook. Even if you have a family, you need to also make sure you are doing nice things for yourself in addition to them. Never out yourself on a backburner. You deserve self-love.
7. Stay Grounded
Remember your roots, where you came from and how far you have made it. Even if you are living your best life, you want to remain grounded. Nobody likes a bragger or someone that loves to show off.
Remain grounded and connected to who you really are, no matter what your situation is. If you fly private and spend $50,000 at Gucci on a Wednesday because you can you still need to stay grounded. It becomes toxic when you let other things take that away from you.
8. Forgive
One of the hardest things to do is to learn to forgive, especially if someone or something really hurt you. But, letting something continue to weigh you down just builds up the stress and pressure on your shoulders. The sooner you are able to let go and forgive, the less it will ever impact you. It’s very hard to move forward when you are constantly looking back at the past. It’s the past for a reason so don’t dwell on it. Forgive and move onto bigger and better things.
